Leah E. Welker graduated from Brigham Young University (Provo) in 2016 with a degree in English language and a minor in editing. She then edited for seven years and pivoted to writing in 2023. She is based in the DC area, where she lives with family and her rescue Australian shepherd, Wes. Follow her at leahewelker.com.

Leah E. Welker writes light-filled high-fantasy romance ("romantasy") books. She is currently based in the DC area but hates cities, traffic, and going to museums (go figure). She's an INT/FJ, Enneagram 1, Gold, Gryffindor, hoping to escape to some backwoods cottage with her old, anxious rescue dog, Wes, where they can sit together on some porch and bask in the peace and quiet for the rest of their days. She also doesn't like most sweets, but she accepts 70% dark chocolate with a hint of sea salt. Wes will take peanut butter, thank you.

Leah E. Welker began crafting stories almost from the moment she learned to speak. One of her very first novels was a fantasy retelling of Robin Hood, emailed to her siblings and best friend chapter by chapter.

Though she voraciously read all sorts of fantasy, she found her home in the full-fantasy realms of Gail Carson Levine, Patricia C. Wrede, Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, Christopher Paolini, C. S. Lewis, and J. R. R. Tolkien. She hopes The Blood of the Covenants, her young adult fantasy series, pays homage to these greats (with an added dash of romance, too).
