The short version
This website (leahewelker.com) is run by me, author Leah E. Welker. I respect your privacy and only collect what I need to send you the things you actually ask for. I never sell or rent your information.
What I collect
When you join my newsletter, download bonus content, or send a message through a form, I collect the details you give me—usually your name and email address. My web host and analytics may also automatically collect limited technical data, such as browser type, approximate location, and IP address, through cookies—for security and to understand overall site traffic.
How I use it
Only in the ways you'd expect:
- To send you the newsletter and updates you signed up for.
- To reply to messages you send me through a form.
- To understand overall traffic so I can improve the site.
Who processes your data
I never sell or rent your personal information. A few trusted tools process it on my behalf so the site can work:
- My website runs on WordPress and is hosted by SiteGround, who stores site data securely on my behalf under their own privacy policy.
- My newsletter and forms are managed with FluentCRM and Fluent Forms, which keep your information in my own website's database rather than a separate third-party marketing platform.
- Emails are delivered through FluentSMTP using a secure email-sending service.
Newsletter & your consent
Signing up is double opt-in: after you enter your email, I send a confirmation message, and you're only added once you click to confirm. I keep a record of that consent. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out any time—no hard feelings, though I'll miss you.
Cookies & analytics
I try to keep this site as close to "cookieless" as I reasonably can. There are no advertising cookies, and I never sell your information. Here's the honest, short list of what might be stored on your device:

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings without breaking the site—at most, the quiz and the bookstore pages will forget your preferences, and the Reader Library will ask for your email again so it can send you a fresh link. If I ever switch on analytics or newsletter tracking that needs it, you'll see a simple cookie banner where you can say yes or no.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information I hold about you at any time. Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email, or reach me through my contact page and I'll take care of it.
