What you won't find
My books contain no on-page sexual activity, no graphic sexual discussion, and no descriptions of nudity or intimate touching. Where physical intimacy is concerned, nothing on the page goes beyond a kiss.
What you will find
Plenty of romance: longing, tenderness, the held breath before a hand is taken, and the occasional passionate kiss or makeout scene. I love a good slow burn. The physical side simply never progresses past kissing.
One note, so you can choose for yourself
In a single scene in the Blood of the Covenants (book five), a newly married couple shares a honeymoon night. The intimate part of the evening happens off the page; the scene stays with the emotional weight of their new bond rather than any physical detail. I mention it so you can make an informed choice based on your own preferences and convictions.
No judgment, ever
None of this is a judgment of anyone who writes or reads spicy or erotic fiction. I believe there is sometimes a real place for it, including in a mature adult's journey toward self-acceptance, self-love, and healthier relationships, even for deeply religious people like me.
Why clean is my niche
I walked that road myself, through both fiction and nonfiction. It was healing, and at times genuinely spiritual, and I traveled it carefully, honoring what I understood to be the spirit of my own religious promises.
Part of what it taught me is that I'm on the asexual spectrum. I've found I most enjoy reading and writing clean romance precisely for the room it leaves the parts of love I treasure most: kindness, service, sacrifice, conversation, trust, and the closeness that grows through everything two people share that has nothing to do with the bedroom. I like a little passion, too, but only once it has been earned, many other ways first.
So clean romance isn't a rule I write under. It's the niche I have genuinely, gladly chosen. And because I write for young adults, and want to, at least for now, keeping things clean is a responsibility I hold with care.
