Read the map in words
Drawn from above, north at the top. The hold is carved underground: a single teardrop-shaped chamber, narrow at its north tip and broad at the south, wrapped in rough rock. A garden fills the center, with a waterfall at its heart. Two curved bands of rooms ring that garden. Beginning at the north tip and reading down the east side: the oculus, the library, the assembly room, the training room. Across the southern end lie the cold storage and the other storage. Up the west side sit the sleeping quarters, the kitchen, the bathrooms, the laundry, and the workrooms. From the south, one long corridor runs out to the gate—the hold’s only way in—with a single window partway along it.
